Lewis Hamilton grabbed the win after a scandalous collision with Verstappen.

Debate over again on lap 37 when Hamilton tried to overtake . Verstappen in the first corner. Hamilton briefly held the lead, but the Dutchman refused to give up his place and both drivers went off the track as a result. Massi told Red Bull that Verstappen should hand the lead back to Hamilton.

The order was followed by further chaos, with Verstappen and Hamilton colliding after the former braked hard in front of the Mercedes. This damaged Hamilton’s front wing, with the stewards later giving Verstappen a 10-second penalty for the incident.

Hamilton was able to hold off Verstappen for a good six laps later. Despite the damage to his car, he pulled away late to take a thrilling win for Mercedes.
