Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek are among the top players in the inaugural World Tennis League exhibition event in Dubai from Monday to Saturday.

The inaugural edition of the World Tennis League will see a line-up of 17 players take part in the new exhibition event over six intense days, which will serve as preparation for the upcoming season.

Speaking about the new location, 21-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic commented: This new episode is interesting, no doubt about it.”

“I absolutely love playing in Dubai. I’ve had a lot of success there over the years and really enjoy the fans..

“It’s something different, and it’s going to be great to be a part of it.”

Djokovic will wrap up Tuesday’s action by playing his first singles match against Alexander Zverev, making his second appearance at an exhibition event since returning to action at the Deria Tennis Cup in early December.

The German has been sidelined since undergoing surgery after tearing multiple ligaments in his ankle during his French Open semi-final match against 14th Roland Garros champion Rafael Nadal last June.

World number one, Iga Swiatek also spoke about the new challenge like it best when tennis connects people and when it’s real fun. It’s even better when combined with a great show and music, which is why I’m excited to be at this year’s World Tennis League.”

According to the organizer’s, the 6-day tournament will run from Monday to Saturday on hard courts at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.
