T20 World Cup: Amir unhappy with Shaheen Afridi’s fitness

Former Pakistani speed bowler Muhammad Amir is dissatisfied with the fitness of aggressive youngster Shaheen Shah Afridi

Former Pakistani speed bowler Muhammad Amir is dissatisfied with the fitness of aggressive youngster Shaheen Shah Afridi after his performance in the high-voltage showdown against arch-rival India in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Shaheen, the Pakistani speed player, joined the national team during the T20 World Cup in Australia after a three-month rehab for a knee ligament injury he suffered in a test match against South Africa in Galle in July.

Pakistan played their opening match in the mega event against India at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), but Shaheen was unable to take the wicket.

The left handball player admitted 34 shots in four overshoots and also lacked speed, which, in addition to swinging, is his best skill. The reason behind Shaheen’s fruitless spell according to the ex-Amir is that the young man of peace is “not quite fit”.
