Shadab Khan has named new T20 captain of Pakistan against Afghanistan

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named a 15-member squad for a three-match T20 series against Afghanistan in UAE.
All- rounder Shadab Khan has named the new captain to lead the squad in the absence of full-time skipper Babar Azam, who has been rested.

According PCB chairman Najam Sethi along with Haroon Rashid who wish to make chances for new comers in the team and said” we want to give chances for youngsters and and going to rest some senior players in order to make preparations for up coming Work Cup. “ saying that the squad announcement prepared according to the team future plan

According to the PCB statement, skipper Babar Azam, along with Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi have been rested. Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Mohammad Hasnain and Khushdil Shah also has been excluded in the final squad.

Ihsanullah, Saim ayub & Zaman Khan gets their maiden international call while Azam Khan, Imad wasim, Faheem ashraf & Abdullah Shafique back into the squad!

Meanwhile,PCB chairman congratulated Shadab on his new role.
“Shadab Khan has been the Pakistan vice-captain in white-ball cricket for the past couple of years and it is logical that he takes over the side in the absence of Babar Azam for the short three-match T20I tour of Sharjah,” said the PCB high-up.

Last year, when the two teams played in Sharjah in Asia Cup, Asif Ali was seen involved in a heated exchange with Fareed Ahmad Malik and fined for breaching of ICC code of conduct.

PCB chairman also warned Afghanistan spectators and players to avoid any misbehavior in the series and said “I had a chat with Afghanistan officials in Dubai about crowd control and their players’ behavior. What is guarantee about managing your fans and fans, because past experiences haven’t been good,”
