Indian female Olympian accused sexual harassment by Wrestling federation head

Vinesh Phogat Olympian gold medalist and others female wrestlers are continuing their sit- in near Indian parliament and accused sexual and metal harassment by Wrestling head of India BrijBhushan Sharan Singh and demand his resignation.

The wrestlers and their nearly 200 supporters at Jantar Mantar carried placards reading “We will fight for our rights,” and “Boycott the WFI president.”
Young female wrestlers are demanding immediate sacking of strong ruling party member for sexual charges and arrange to meet with Indian sports minister second time in 24 hours.

Singh, a lawmaker representing the governing Bharatiya Janata Party, rejected the accusations and said he was ready to face any probe.
“Why should I resign?” Singh said.

The protesting wrestlers have sent a letter to the Indian Olympic Association demanding its intervention and conduct fair trail of their allegations.

P. T. Usha, the IOA president, in a tweet assured a full fledge investigation into their accusations to prevail justice.

“We also have decided to form a special committee to deal with such situations that may arise in the future, for swifter action,” she said.

According to the allegations Vinesh Phogat almost contemplated the suicide after being harassed and mentally abused by Indian WFI president because Phogat missed out the gold medal in Tokyo Olympic.
